Leeds Arts University is now recognised as the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We wish to appoint a Course Leader to provide the vision and develop a new BA (Hons) Comic & Concept Art course. The Course Leader will take the academic and operational lead of the new BA (Hons) Comic & Concept Art working closely with the Programme Director. The Course Leader will also be responsible for the planning, delivery and organisation of the course. Acting initially as the Level 4 Year Leader as well as Module Leader responsible for the quality and enhancement of the student learning experiences across the course, the Course Leader will work closely with the course team to support the general student experience. Applicants must be able to demonstrate independence and competence in leading and managing at a similar level and have the ability to teach at all levels within the overall curriculum.
Educated to a minimum of Masters Level, you will have significant knowledge of contemporary illustration and its relationship to the more specialist areas of comic and concept art. You will also have significant experience and expertise in preparing students for careers in a range of roles within the creative industries. You should be able to demonstrate a level of experience in managing curriculum across all levels of undergraduate study and be prepared to support the integration of theory and practice through dissertation supervision at level 6.
