Detail information about job Administrative Assistant. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Royal College of Art is the world’s most influential institution of university status devoted to the study of art, design, humanities and communication and has an international reputation for excellence in teaching, practice and research. The College has some 1,780 students following postgraduate courses and staff, both full- and part-time, totalling approximately 400.

The College is seeking to appoint one part-time Administrative Assistant in the School of Architecture, based at the College's Kensington site. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the administrators within the School and will be required to support the successful coordination of communication with key School stakeholders, arranging and supporting meetings and events and managing and maintaining information. The successful candidate will act as first point of contact for students with routine enquiries and for guests and visitors to the School, providing a warm welcome and ensuring they are supported during their visit.

It is essential that candidates are educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent and have administrative experience of working in a busy customer-focused environment with the ability to deal with a variety of student and education-related issues with tact and sensitivity. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must, as well as the ability to communicate well and with confidence to a wide range of people both verbally and in writing. Experience of working in higher education and an interest and enthusiasm for contemporary art, design and culture is desirable but not essential.
