Keele University is seeking to appoint a strong leader to the position of Professor of Chemistry and Head of the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences. The newly formed School of Chemical and Physical Sciences has been created as part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences’ ambitious programme to enhance its research reputation and to grow its student numbers.
Located in rural Staffordshire, between Manchester and Birmingham, the University has an international reach, a reputation for world-class research, high quality research-led education and an outstanding student experience, reflected in a Gold award in the TEF. We aim to build on the impact of our broad academic and research programmes, having invested heavily over the past 10 years in the campus and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding research leader, and will lead the School to develop a visible and distinctive research identity which complements the established excellence of Keele’s learning and teaching environment. The School has eight degree programmes and an excellent reputation in learning and teaching with both Chemistry and Physics ranked 1st in the NSS and Forensic Science ranked 1st in The Complete University Guide 2017.
