The University of Chester is consistently improving its presence and position within various national higher education rankings, and the Department of Clinical Sciences and Nutrition consists of high profile leading edge practitioners and academics with aspirations to create new provision and research in the field.

The department provides the only NHS commissioned dietetics training in the North West region, and now wishes to appoint two suitable individuals to the position of Clinical Placement Facilitator.

You will be expected to make a contribution to the development of training placements for dietetic students, ensuring that all students receive an outstanding learning experience, and that placements meet the standards required by regulatory bodies. Key aspects of the role will be to work with colleagues in practice and academia to develop and reinforce the placement network for student dietitians and ensure quality standards are met. Supporting current placement providers to maintain quality and standards will be an integral part of your role. You may be may be asked to contribute to other related programmes in the department as required.

You should have a science or health related degree, be registered with the HCPC (or equivalent professional registration) and have experience of placement organisation and provision in the clinical setting. You will have excellent organisation and communication abilities, proven interpersonal skills and work effectively in a team. Preferably you will have considerable experience of working within the NHS or similar organisations, with knowledge and experience of engagement in professional body requirements for policy and practice, proven track record of working in multi-agency environments and effective liaison with key stakeholders.
