We are seeking an experienced, talented, committed and enthusiastic Mental Health Advisor who will contribute to our highly professional team. You will be professionally qualified as a Mental Health Social Worker or equivalent. Full time and part time position available.
In collaboration with Counsellors and Mental Health Advisors you will contribute to the triage system. You will be working with a wide range of complex presenting problems, assessing risk and managing crisis, to support students with complex and serious mental health problems. You will also contribute to the Wellbeing training programme.
You will have:
- Significant relevant experience of working with young adults with serious or enduring mental health problems. Be experienced in using a case management approach, effective crisis management skills and ability to work flexibly with students, including working with a demanding caseload.
- Experienced in working with complex needs and comorbid presentations, including specific learning disabilities such as ASD, and physical health conditions.
- A collaborative style and the ability to work as part of a team, including developing team projects.
- Computer skills and familiarity with using technology for training and record keeping.
- The ability to remain calm under ongoing pressure and be approachable and engaging.
- Familiarity with counselling cross-culturally.
- Good presentation skills and experience of delivering psychosocial education training.
