About the Role
AHRC now have 3 Strategy and Development Manager posts available.
You will provide strategic leadership of allocated activities within AHRC’s programmes division, leading and supporting Programmes Coordinators and Portfolio Managers in the development and management of a range of funding schemes and initiatives, including knowledge exchange, research training and careers and international activities as required. You will play a key role in informing the strategic direction of the team and programmes division as a whole, including the development of existing schemes and delivery of new ones and the development of processes to monitor awards, including Equality and Diversity monitoring.
In this role you will:
- Work with the Strategic Lead/Team Head and other Strategy and Development Managers and Strategic Leads to manage the planning and operation of the relevant team and its contribution to the delivery of wider AHRC and UKRI strategic aims
- Manage engagement with other teams within the AHRC, with other Councils in UKRI and with the external research community
- Assume overall responsibility for the delivery of funding schemes and programmes managed by the team, including devolved budget management as required
- Encourage team identity, cohesion and collaborative working across teams and help lead the team and the Programmes Division through times of change.
About you
It is essential that you have a degree or equivalent relevant experience as well as experience in higher education administration, research administration or a similar environment.
You must have the ability to initiate and lead successful projects and programmes of work, managing team members’ workloads effectively and anticipating future workloads.
You will also have the ability to establish and maintain productive and professional working relationships with people and colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally.
