This full-time apprenticeship role is available from September 2017 on a 3 year fixed term basis.

The successful applicant will be enrolled on Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with Bicton College, working as part of Technical Services in Exeter. The Apprenticeship will include elements of on-the-job and off-the-job training leading to industry recognised nationally recognised qualification.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to learn about laboratory science theory and be able to put it into practice in our varied and well equipped laboratories. You will have an exceptional, unrivalled, scientific experience and will build a wide range of transferable skills.

As a member of our laboratory technician team you will work primarily in Exeter Sequencing Service laboratories at Streatham and RILD sites sequencing genomes from many different species. You will carry out both routine and one-off laboratory testing and perform a variety of technical support functions related to DNA and RNA quality control, library preparation and sequencing.
