The Faculty of Media & Communication at Bournemouth University is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for its media courses and is looking to recruit a Senior Technician to join an established team to provide a customer-focussed technical service to its students and staff. As part of that team, you will have responsibility for the day to day provision of a varied range of portable video and audio recording equipment, and for providing support and guidance to staff and students in the safe use of technical resources. In addition, you will have specific responsibilities for ensuring the Faculty is operating in compliance with COSHH legislation, you will also be the Manual Handling trainer in the Faculty and will organise and deliver Manual Handling workshops to both Staff and Students.
Your knowledge, experience and technical ability will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest of technical standards. Your ability to work as a team player and take a lead in this dynamic customer environment is essential to deliver high levels of equipment availability and serviceability to meet service demands. Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems with clear, workable solutions will be indispensable to this challenging and rewarding role.
This post is offered for up to 23 months on a fixed-term appointment or secondment basis to cover the career break of an established member of staff.
