The Data Protection and Freedom of Information Adviser is a key member of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information team within UCL’s Legal Services function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing UCL’s day to day compliance with its data protection, freedom of information and environmental information obligations. They will also the support the University’s Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officer in providing advice, guidance and training on all matters relating to data protection and freedom of information to staff and students across UCL. They will also play a role in the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at UCL.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have relevant experience of managing high volumes of complex and often sensitive requests for information under data protection and freedom of information legislation within statutory deadlines. You will possess exceptional communication skills both written and oral and will be able to communicate complex matters simply and concisely to staff at different levels across UCL. It is imperative that you can demonstrate diplomacy and discretion and are able to manage your own time to achieve objectives.
