To provide the leadership and ambition in this endeavour we are seeking to appoint exceptional leaders to the posts of Client Relationship Manager to drive performance and achieve transformational change focussed on aligning our academic strengths with our key industrial research partners in further realising the University’s Vision through its strategic plans, policies and procedures.
These roles are part of the newly created Business & Enterprise team. Its ambition is to drive the delivery of the University's Strategic Plan for Knowledge Exchange (KE) (2016-2021), which aims to grow KE income by at least 300% by 2027. The team works closely with the Academic community and other professional support teams to increase the economic and social impact of, and income from, our research and teaching activity.
The team comprises a Director, Deputy Director and 11 professional support staff aligned to three sections; Research and Development (R&D), Talent Management and KE Programme Management.
Working with the Business and Enterprise Director and senior Academic colleagues, the Client Relationship Managers will realise strategic Knowledge Exchange objectives through identifying, developing, leading and building our key business relationships with strategic partners, clients and stakeholders. There will be a focus on developing Collaborative and Contract Research and Consultancy in the Industrial sector aligned to the University’s areas of academic strength in research and development.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record in creating and developing Research and Development programmes in the Industrial or Higher Education Institution (HEI) contexts. Excellent client relationship/business development experience within a B2B environment in a large organisation is essential. The role holder must be highly proactive with exceptional customer relationship skills and be proficient in coaching others to develop new business opportunities through to achieving successful results
