The Communications team within the Vice-Chancellors Department are responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, social media, strategic messaging, communications advice and internal event management on behalf of the University.
About the role
We have a new, fixed-term opportunity (12 months) for an experienced Junior PHP/Drupal Website Developer to join the University’s Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Digital Communications, you will take responsibility for development and theming. Your skills will be a combination of programming (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.) and aesthetics (such as understanding element arrangements on the screen, the colour and font choices).
The Person
With a passion for web front end design, you will demonstrate strong knowledge of WordPress, Drupal 7 and some exposure to 8 including CSS and suing frameworks such as Bootstrap. You will have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Technically adept, you have proven fluency in building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications, and designing and developing responsive design websites. You will enjoy working effectively in pressured environments, ensuring that your own workload is prioritised and deadlines are met.
