The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is the oldest and most established school of tropical medicine in the world and is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research and teaching in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

As one of the few postgraduate centres of excellence in the field of tropical medicine, we are enthusiastic about offering our unrivalled learning opportunities to students within the UK and across the developing world, to provide them with the opportunity to excel in their careers in global health research, humanitarian work in the field, medicine, and academia.

This newly created post will be instrumental in leading and developing on all aspects of project management relating to the Teaching Expansion Plan, which is a key focus of activity in LSTM’s Strategic Plan for 2017 to 2023. Reporting to the Director of International Education and Knowledge Exchange Initiatives, the Project Manager will assume responsibility for: day-to-day project management, development, ownership, management and delivery of work plans; setting up and management of project processes, quality assurance, reporting, communication and relationship management.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated, have experience in the management of academic projects with multiple stakeholders across broad academic disciplines and locations and experience of developing and maintaining project monitoring systems. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and significant experience of project management in the Higher Education sector, coupled with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of individuals. Although not essential, it would be preferable if you can demonstrate experience in a science or health-related field.
