Hours: 35 hours per weekContract: Fixed term for two years

We are looking for a proactive and organised person to join our Policy Centre as a Policy & Research Officer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Policy analysis and dissemination including:
    • Monitoring physics policy and the data landscape in the UK, Ireland and the EU.
    • Researching and writing short policy briefs and consultation responses, giving presentations and disseminating policy findings.
  • Data and research activities including:
    • Managing procurement, protocols and licenses for external dataset
    • Managing external contractors undertaking data analysis work
  • Networking, planning and stakeholder engagement

About you

We are looking for a dedicated and driven person to join our Policy Centre as Policy & Research Officer. You will have well developed research, analytical, statistical and numerical skills and an in-depth knowledge of the UK political system. It is important that you have proven experience of writing for a policy audience.

The successful candidate will also be highly organised and excellent at project management skills, which will mean that you will need to be extremely proactive. You will be superlative at cultivating relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and able to communicate with a wide range of people.

It is essential that you have knowledge of European Union (EU) science funding and governance structures. You will have experience of data collation and statistical analysis, working with large datasets and data analysis packages.
