We are looking for someone who has as much kick to their character as they do in their food! 

We need a Head Chef with a well-seasoned personality who can appreciate the beauty of a delicious meal paired with a flawlessly chilled craft beer - to be shortlisted for this dream role, you will;

• Have three years’ experience in a similar senior kitchen role;
• Ideally hold a formal qualification;
• Have experience with leading a kitchen team;

As Head Chef, you will have sole charge and be accountable for all aspects of the kitchen operation and the team of superstars within it. Your primary responsibility first and foremost will be to make damn good food but while you’re at it, there are several other things you will need to take care of:

• Working closely with the GM to recruit, lead, mentor, train and performance manage all kitchen staff;
• Allocate and monitor the day duties of all staff, including roster management;
• Handling freight and foodstuffs in line with hygiene and food safety best practice;
• Ordering and managing stock;
• Take responsibility for every plate that comes out of the kitchen whilst minimising wastage;
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring that budgeted food margins are met;
• Exceed the expectations of our Queenstown locals, as well as a bunch of discerning après adrenalin junkies at ‘Adventure Central’. 

This is no pub grub role – so if your idea of a great bite is a tuna sandwich like your mum used to make then you need not apply. We are looking for someone that can create food that the locals will be banging down the door to come back and savour, that can make the craft beer sing!
