We are looking for personality plus Porters for both the Hermitage and Mt Cook Lodge & Motels.
Working within our Front Office team, you will be the face of the hotel and the first contact our team have with our guests.
We welcome both local and international guests to experience this unique environment with us and our aim is to build a team that approaches each day with energy and enthusiasm. There is no such thing as a typical day and this provides an exciting challenge for anyone joining our team.
Your day will have a guest focus, ensuring each of guests is given our full attention.
You will be responsible for:
- Meeting guests and assisting them with their luggage
- Answering general inquiries
- Providing transport through our village shuttle service
- Assisting the reception team with check ins and check outs
- General hotel duties and assisting other departments where required
About you:
Our teams live and work together so it's important that you have a positive attitude and an enthusiasm for the hospitality industry. You should be flexible with a can-do attitude and looking to learn throughout your time with us. Your ability to build rapport with our guests and share your knowledge and passion for the local surrounding area is the key to success.
You will need:
- To be physically fit
- A confident and safe driver, holding a full clean NZ Drivers licence or International equivalent
- A friendly and approachable manner
- Experience in Customer service to a high standard
- Ability to effectively communicate with guest and staff who have English as a second language
- Current First Aid

- Applicants should be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, although assistance to obtain this may be provided for some roles.
- All positions at Aoraki Mt Cook Alpine Village Ltd have accommodation provided as part of our unique lifestyle package, with the weekly board & lodgings rates including three meals a day and power. Due to the idyllic, isolated location of Mt Cook, you will need to be comfortable working and living in a remote location.
