Our client is seen by many as one of the employers of choice in the SME segment of the chartered accounting arena in Auckland.
The firm has enjoyed sustained organic growth and recent acquisitions have added to the impressive expansion of this forward-looking organisation.
The tax practice in the firm is growing and this growth has created two new opportunities for
an intermediate tax consultant with a minimum of 2-3 years current NZ CA (or IRD) experience in tax, and
a senior tax consultant with a minimum of 4 years current NZCA (or IRD) experience in tax
We are looking for a friendly and outgoing individual with sound grounding in tax compliance and strong interpersonal/client-facing skills.
These roles are part of a close-knit team and will suit a team player with a friendly and outgoing personality and positive attitude. You will work closely alongside a tax manager and, at times, directly with the partners.
This is a client-facing role and you will be responsible for a section of clients, including dealing with various tax related queries.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with tax reviews and audits
- Assisting the tax principal in Identifying tax risks for clients
- Assisting with BAS tax reviews
- Assisting with the completion of tax returns
- Assisting with the development of internal best practice tax systems
- Providing timely compliance tax updates to external and internal clients
- Reviewing GST returns for external and internal clients
- Liaising with IRD and facilitating faster refunds for clients
- Performing tax reviews of client prepared financials
- Assisting the tax partners and the managers with IRD audits
- Liaising between IRD and clients – re IRD audits
- Various ad hoc responsibilities.
