The Role:

This is a full-time opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join and support our small Finance team of 4. Reporting to the Finance Manager for Australia & New Zealand, the main focus of the position is to drive business productivity improvements through the provision of effective Manufacturing & Financial analysis and support to our small Finance Team.

You will (ideally) LOVE working with excel … or at least have a high level of comfort using detailed spreadsheets.  The role has been specifically created to support the business by compiling accurate, analytical data that can enable key business decisions to be made.  How?  Through thorough investigation and self-motivation - we can provide the spade but you need to do the digging!  

The successful candidate will ideally have an understanding of Cost Accounting, and will add value to our production process by analysing production related data and ultimately, with support from other departments, highlight opportunities to optimise the production operation.

This is a hands on and varied role so you need to be someone with great communication skills that enjoys getting out on site and talking to plant personnel.  This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who wants to make a real difference and establish themselves.

The hours of work are 40 per week, Monday through Friday.

The Key Skills, Attributes & Experience

  • Proven understanding of Cost Accounting.
  • Tertiary qualifications in, or progress towards, an accounting or business related discipline are highly desirable for this role.
  • Accounting Technician or equivalent as a minimum requirement.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles & practices.
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment an advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office PC applications with developed Excel skills.
  • SAP experience is highly desirable but not essential.
  • A good sense of humour (no, really..) and a positive attitude.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi task and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The capability to manage effective professional relationships.
  • The ability to work autonomously, taking ownership for your work and having confidence in your abilities.
