We are looking for an experienced counsellor, psychologist or psychotherapist to join our Family Support team at Hospice North Shore.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to provide counselling support to patients, carers and families both in the Hospice inpatient unit, and also in the community.
In addition the successful applicant will also be involved in:
- Planning and facilitating support groups for patients, carers and families.
- Contributing to training of both staff and other people within the community.
This is a part time role of 32 hours a fortnight. This is a fixed term position for 6 months from September 2018 – April 2019.
North Shore Hospice is a specialist hospice and palliative care service which has been providing quality, professional and dedicated care to patients and their families for over 30 years.
Desired skills and experience
We are looking for someone with counselling experience who is able to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Specific experience within palliative care (or with loss and grief) is preferred but not essential.
The successful candidate will also have:
- A degree or postgraduate certificate or diploma in counselling, psychology or psychotherapy
- A full practising certificate
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
