Principal Policy Advisor - This is a Wellington-based, permanent position for an experienced public Policy professional – Principal level.
As a Principal you will be responsible for working closely with the Policy Manager and the other Principal in the team to set the strategic direction for the team’s work programme, and to work across the their branch. This is a really exciting time as they currently have the mandate to shape the work programme.
Your core policy skills and knowledge will of course be exceptional and you’ll be adept at leading high quality, well-reasoned analysis to tight deadlines.
To be considered, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Leadership of complex policy projects
- Strategic thinking
- Energised by working with a wide range of stakeholders and partners, including working directly with Ministers'
- Strong understanding of public policy and the machinery of government
- Very strong writing ability, complemented with sound numerical skills
- Strong strategic, analytical and creative skills
- Outstanding communication, relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Intellectual leadership and ability to coach/mentor and motivate team members.
