Due to staff relocation,this enviable position has become available for a highly skilled engineer to focus on providing maintenance planning and system analysis of production equipment for an internationally recognised market leader.

Desiring to continue their market dominance, the successful candidate will report to the Group Operations Manager and be responsible for asset and maintenance management ensuring the engineering section contributes positively and proactively.

Optimum plant availability and performance are critical to the company's 24/7 operation and to the positions success.

You will possess strong organisational and decision making skills, be highly experienced in computerised PPM (MEX/Workmate etc.)/reliability engineering practices and cultivate collaborative relationships with Planning, Quality and Production staff.

This is a key position in the manufacturing management team responsible for the forward planning, setting budgets, equipment upgrades /projects, machine up time and RCA investigation.

As part of the role you will be required to:

• Prioritise and schedule work for a stable team of mechanical & electrical staff plus contractors to minimise disruption to production.
• Manage the critical spares and ensure that the workshop is well stocked.
• Continually upgrade the planned/predictive maintenance system with a focus towards reducing measured downtime.
• Troubleshoot process issues
• Raise Capex for site service upgrades and recommend replacements to the executive team.
• Work closely with production management to ensure that health and safety issues and continuous improvement projects are completed.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A mechanical engineering Trade Certificate likely accompanied with a higher tertiary qualification and work experience in a manufacturing environment. (Preferably FMCG.)
• A strong work ethic, an inclusive approach with staff and the ability to engage and communicate at all levels.
• A strong empathy with computer, PPM, Excel, ERP systems with the ability to continually strive for and facilitate improvements.
