Infrastructure Projects – Auckland based – Large Multi Million project portfolio

I’m after a specialist. Someone who knows and understands the NZ construction scene and what it takes to deliver large scale multi-million-dollar infrastructural projects. This is a very important role within the company which requires their CAPEX interests to be maintain and all projects to be completed in a timely manner, to specification and cost etc.

A diverse centralized role rather than a single project related role, the scope includes driving several construction projects at any given time, such as mixture of: linear assets, i.e. pipes, pump stations, reservoirs; generally civil construction. Plus, treatment plants both water & waste, which include a mix of civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines. These projects (up to a 100 at any given time) are typically in the $1M to $250M range.

Required attributes for the role include:

• A minimum of 15+ years of experience, as a project/programme manager with experience of managing multi-disciplined $100 million+ infrastructure projects/programmes
• Chartered professional engineer or equivalent
• Ability to deliver a project to safety, environmental, cost, time and quality targets, inclusive of commissioning
• Experience in utilities sector, construction contracting, or engineering consultancy is preferred
• Strong organisational and communications skills to maintain a positive relationship with all stake holders (internal and external) always!
• PMP qualification is advantageous
• Successfully led teams of project managers and construction personnel for a minimum of 10 years
• Ability to solve complex problems involving multiple scenarios and identify the best available option
• Have strong contract documentation and procedural skills
• Build and lead a highly skilled project management team
