We are looking for a motivated and experienced Connections Engineer to review, approve, and accept extensions to the water and wastewater networks constructed by a third party. The Engineer makes these decisions in accordance with Watercare's Engineering Design Standards and Code of Practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • To review and approve extensions/relocations to the water and wastewater networks to be constructed by a third party.
  • To contribute to the performance of the Developer Services Team, with particularly focus on timely and accurate approvals and exceptional customer service.
  • To establish and maintain working relationships with key internal customers.
  • To establish and maintain working relationships with key external customers.
  • To manage delivery of technical and specialist professional services
  • To manage specific projects
  • To ensure a Healthy and Safe work environment and work practices
  • To contribute to the success of the business unit.
  • To initiate and lead continuous improvement in business performance.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary level professional qualification
  • At least 5 years' experience in an engineering role, preferably in the water/wastewater industry

While not a prerequisite, the following will be an asset to this role: a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) qualification; asset management experience; planning experience; infrastructure construction management experience.
