This well-established commercial construction contractor is hiring a site supervisor for their maintenance department in Auckland, with crossover to the interior equivalent as well. They are looking for someone who is dependable and autonomous, coming from a trades (preferably builder) background combined with supervisory experience of fit-outs and maintenance. The salary for this position is in the range of $70-85k annually.
The key accountabilities will be to monitor maintenance activities of various size and report progress, as well as being involved in the interiors space - consisting of mostly alterations to existing work; ensure systems and processes are adhered to; ensure all works are installed and executed in accordance with contract documents; enforce H&S on-site; maintain an accurately detailed daily site diary and be a strong motivator.
The candidate must be ready to work outside normal hours when needed, and be flexible with work hours - as on occasion you will be required to work weekends.
To be considered for this position you must posses the following skills:
- Supervisory experience, leading and motivating site teams and trades
- 4+ years' New Zealand experience in a similar role and environment (maintenance and interiors)
- Great ability to read, understand and interpret construction plans and drawings
- Able to assess information, evaluate solutions and devise appropriate course of action
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and the use of written English language
- Computer literate in IT skills
- Good observational skills especially for Health, Safety and Quality issues
- Able to provide detailed attention to workmanship
