We are looking for an experienced Asphalt Foreperson to join our Christchurch team.
This role is responsible for planning and supervising the safe, successful, day-to-day activities of the Asphalt Crew – Operators, Labourers, Sub-Contractors and Labour Hire, and in turn contributing to Higgins wider success.
Key responsibilities include:
• Planning, organising and supervising the works and carrying out Higgins activities on time and to budget
• Monitoring of onsite performance of sub-contractors and suppliers
• Carrying out all work in line with company SQE standard operating procedures.
• Carrying out/participating in daily pre start meetings/inductions
• Documentation i.e. timesheets, foreman sheets, pre start inspections
• Reporting of near misses/incidents/hazards
Skills and Experience required:
• Appropriate licenses (WTR, Class 1-4) and competent in the use
• Ability to operate a screed
• Ability to plan a paving job and deliver
• Reasonable level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the position
• Minimal 5 years' experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in road construction and maintenance
• Strong leadership skills
