Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will offer competent practitioner level HSE knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive HSE culture, and grow capability within the Eco Products Group.

This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced H&S Advisor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities Are:

• Actively champion a safety focused culture where individuals and teams take responsibility for the HSE within the organisation
• HSE consultation and collaboration with operational teams, contractors, other PCBU partners, and industry groups
• Advise and monitor HSE risks through internal audit of operational activities
• Design and implement in-house HSE training sessions and/or e-Learning Modules
• Provide an internal audit, inspection and verification function for operational HSE assessment.
• Development and implementation of business unit specific HSE processes and procedures
• Carry out or support incident management and serious incident/potential incident investigations and assist in injury management and rehabilitation
• Support the company's contractor management programme.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

• A tertiary qualification or equivalent in a Health, Safety or Environment discipline
• A strong business background in a commercial environment with varied 'line of business' operations
• 3 - 5 years' experience in a Health, Safety and/or environment orientated role preferably within the manufacturing, building and construction, utilities, FMCG or defence industries
• Strong working knowledge of current HSE legislation
• Good understanding of OHSMS, Environment and Quality Management Systems including ISO systems and AS/NZS4804
• Advanced verbal and written communication and excellent I.T. skills
• Skilled in developing effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with managers and staff at all levels

Desirable

• Previous HSE Advisor experience
• Professional membership of an appropriate trade body such as IOSH/NZISM to technician level or above.

This is a permanent full-time role that is based in Auckland but may require occasional regional or national travel.
