The role:
Datacom Group Limited is the parent company which has subsidiaries operating predominantly across New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines. This role is based in our fantastic new Auckland office in the central city.
You will report to the Group Accounts Receivable Manager and be responsible for assisting the group in dealing with outstanding debt and keeping it at an acceptable agreed level. We are looking for someone who has excellent verbal communication skills, is comfortable dealing with people at all levels in an organisation, can build strong relationships with key internal and external customers, and is not afraid of those tough conversations. You will have empathy and understanding in different customer situations and be able to ask trouble shooting queries to assist them with coming to a successful outcome for all.
Day to day you will be…
- Responsible for ensuring outstanding aged debt stays within acceptable thresholds
- Reporting on all significant overdue debtors and advising collection plan
- Responsible for a ledger of over 200 accounts
- Working with the business and external customers to ensure disputes are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensuring bad debt provision is adequate
- Working with the Accounts Receivable Manager, external Customers and the business on debt recovery
- Arranging customer repayment plans, placing accounts on credit hold and utilising the services of an external debt recovery agency as required
- Project work as required
Experience we need to see…
- Minimum 4 years previous experience in credit controller role
- Experience working with customers both internally and externally.
- Proven experience in reducing aged debt and debtor days
- Great excel skills
- Self-motivation and a can-do way of working
