This well-known commercial construction contractor is looking to hire an Interiors Supervisor to oversee the fit-out and interiors-related tasks on Auckland projects. They are looking for someone who is dependable and autonomous from a trades background with at least 4+ years' supervisory experience of fit-outs and workforce labour, in New Zealand. The salary on offer is in the range of $80-100k annually, depending on your level of experience.
The company in question has a very prominent forward workload. They provide the management and delivery of projects for commercial, healthcare, retail, corporate and leisure sector customers.
We are looking for a professional with a strong personality - someone who can take charge and is mentally equipped to confidently represent the employer at all times, on all sites. You also have to able to navigate your way around sites and provide technical knowledge to teams and co-workers. The key accountabilities of the role will be to monitor daily work activities and report progress; ensure systems and processes are adhered to; ensure all works are installed and executed in accordance with contract documents; enforce H&S on-site; maintain an accurately detailed daily site diary and be a strong motivator.
Skills required:
- Supervisory experience on commercial interiors projects in New Zealand, with the ability of leading and motivating site teams and trades
- Able to understand and read construction plans & drawings
- Good knowledge of construction best practice
- Able to assess information, evaluate solutions and devise appropriate course of action
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and the use of written English language
- Computer literate in basic IT skills
- Good observational skills especially for Health, Safety and Quality issues
- Able to provide detailed attention to workmanship
