About the role:

We are looking for a suitably experienced Supervisor (with water connection experience) to take responsibility for civil construction projects and staff in a profitable and efficient manner, while ensuring that all work is undertaken in a legislatively compliant manner. This role will be based in our growing Pukekohe Branch.

In particular, we are looking for someone who can:
 

  • Deal with sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Manage people effectively
  • Organise our existing plant equipment and labour to meet the needs of each project undertaken in this role
  • Pricing, tendering and securing new work
  • Manage projects on a day to day basis
  • Look after our valued customers and perform stakeholder management duties
  • Produce reports for the management team
  • Be committed to total quality management for each project undertaken
  • Maintain health and safety standards
  • Programming and scheduling of jobs
  • Ensure that crews are working efficiently and have the adequate training to carry out their tasks. 

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 5 years prior experience in a similar role, with broad exposure to the Civil Contracting Industry (roading, water connections, maintenance, footpaths etc.)
  • The ability to manage crews on the ground
  • Ability to manage projects and ensure all key deadlines are met
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Ability to process purchase orders and carry out budgeting responsibilities
  • Ability to choose the right tools/plant equipment/human resources for the work at hand
  • An appreciation for contract law and ability to interpret construction job specifications
  • Understanding of current HSE legislation
