Franklin Smith are continuing our long standing successful partnership with Green Way; one of New Zealand’s best known building services contractors, specializing in deconstruction and asbestos removal in their search for an ambitious, experienced and driven Commercial Manager.

The role
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing all Green Way’s tender, pricing and contracts administration. It will also be expected for the Commercial Manager to work closely with the Directors to seek out new business, develop new business areas, nurture and maintain existing business and client relationships therefore this role may suit a business motivated senior quantity surveyor with extensive experience with a construction/civil/demolition contractor.
Candidates with senior quantity surveying experience in civil and demolition work will be of specific interest.

Further to above the Commercial Manager will also:
- Assist Directors in developing strategic plans so that they will give accurate view of future plans, required resources and required investments.
- Develop and submit a monthly executive report which includes all project financials. Tender and bid status, successful vs unsuccessful and lost opportunities. Values for current, completed and upcoming work. Status on how the company is tracking towards the goals set out in strategic plan for tender value, turnover and profitability.
- Lead the Contracts Administrator team according to company procedures, polices and in such a way that most effective service delivery and profitability of all contracts are up to the highest standards.
- Constantly seek to identify and develop new business with existing and new customers.
- Ensure timely development of high quality tenders and submissions are delivered. Also ensure prices are competitive, but always compliant, allowing for all items in the documentations and provision for a safe and quality execution of the project.
Essential Criteria
- 5-10 years’ post qualification experience with a demolition, civil or commercial contractor in NZ or other relevant experience.
- Relevant Quantity Tertiary Qualification, Batchelor level minimum
- Valid NZ Driver’s License and be a NZ Resident or hold a valid NZ Work Visa
- Excellent understanding of New Zealand contract legislation (including the CCA and NZS3910)
