Our client is a large hotel group with over 700 employees in New Zealand and the South Pacific. Understanding the need to have a strong focus on innovative technology they have changed their commercial focus to reflect this, which has now seen the creation of this exciting role!

The role:

The role is unique and has a great mix of sales and account management as well as product management.  Based in Auckland and reporting through to the Commercial Director in Christchurch you will help bring a B2B booking platform to life and have input into the development of the marketing collateral and tools that you will require to go to market.

There are three key functions of the role:

  • Business Development – introducing the new B2B booking platform to corporate clients
  • Marketing /product management – have input into the look and feel and design of the marketing collateral and tools
  • Distribution – negotiating pricing and rates

The role will see you build a strong network with strategic partners and key industry bodies. You will be confident sourcing and generating leads and introducing the platform to new and existing clients specifically targeting the corporate traveller.  The role has a lot of autonomy and ownership, while part of a large corporate you will be based with a small team here in Auckland. 

You:

Ideally you will have a travel or tourism background within a sales and/or marketing/product background. You will enjoy travel and building networks.

To be successful in your application you will need to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Senior sales/business development
  • Marketing understanding
  • Travel, tourism or hotel industry experience

The initial training will be in Christchurch and will require to be based in Christchurch for one month. The majority of your clients will be based in Wellington and Auckland, with sever in the South Pacific.

The role will require you to have a current passport and clean driver license.
