I am seeking a Technical Salesperson/ Business Development Manager for a permanent role with a busy and stable company that specalise in the Manufacture and Installation of physical security products. Based in Glenfield, my client has serviced the Physical Security Market for 20 years, and the company has grown as the need for physical security in NZ has increased.

Ideally I am seeking someone that has experience working for a Construction Company or similar in a Sales role with a good technical understanding. The role will be a sales/ business development role combined.

A typical day will involve you taking sales inquiries via the phone or email, and visiting the clients site to scope and quote new work. My client manufacture and install concertinas, security doors & gates and specalised crime barriers. A visit to a client’s site will involve you conducting accurate measurements, and proving the client with a security solution that will best suit their needs. You will then feed this information on to the Production Manager who will pass the measurements on to his team of fabricators who will manufacture the security product based on your measurements. Another aspect of the role will involve generating new business leads - contacting potential new clients and setting up meetings.

To be successful in this role you will be a detailed, keen focused and productive person with good communication skills and a strong technical understanding.

  • Strong computer systems knowledge
  • Flexible as every day will be different
  • Ability to accurately measure jobs and communicate the information back to the Production Manager
  • Pro-active and efficient
  • Ability to do up basic drawings based on the measurements taken while on the client visit
  • CAD experience is advantageous .
