The Company
My client is a well-established and innovative company providing IT managed services, consultancy, professional services and project management to a diverse client base. The continued growth of their professional services offerings means they need to hire a new Security Engineer for the Christchurch team. Work alongside a team of high performers who are well supported in delivering the best solutions to their clients.
 
The Role
You’ll be involved in project implementation work, some change projects too but primarily partnering with customers to identify security issues, designing and implementing network security solutions, firewalls, intrusion preventions systems, web mail filtering, anything network security related. Enjoy the diverse mix of clients, enterprise level systems and work with the latest technologies to deliver the very best solutions.
 
Complementing your excellent technical capability, you must have a strong customer focus, outstanding communication skills, be highly organised and have the ability to articulate technical information to non-technical people.
 
The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 3 years' experience working in enterprise network environments and a minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT security role.
• Experience and understanding of IT security standards, frameworks, systems, processes, and best practices.
• Experience in a Corporate IT environment with expertise in one or more of SIEM, Microsoft server and desktop technologies, LAN/WAN TCP/IP networks, Cisco equipment.
• An understanding and experience with industry standard architecture and design principles; including Virtualisation, Microsoft Technologies, VDI, Mobile Device Management, Cloud Computing and Storage.
• Excellent communication and team based skills as this role includes problem solving and working in a supportive and friendly team environment.
• Any security based certifications (CISSP) would be an asset but not critical.
• Strong forensic analysis and fault diagnosis skills.
• An ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation and reports.
