About the business

 

  •  You will be looking after our customer's installations and services.  
  •  Fibre cabling and Fusion splicing in commercial and domestic properties.
  •  Fibre blowing & hauling
  •  Structured Voice and Data Cabling
  •  Provide high-level of customer service
  •  Submit all associated documentations on time 
  • Attention to details
  •  Scoping, planning, and studying Chorus & other underground service plans  
  •  Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner; focused on Health and Safety and Quality assurance
  •  Connecting ONT device
  • You could be considered for other roles depending on experience & character

About the role

You must have the following to be considered for the role

  • At least 6 months experience in the fibre network
  • A Site safe Passport
  • A current Traffic Control TC1 or preferably STMS qualification
  • A current first aid certificate
  • Current WTC training certificates
  • Be a New Zealand citizen or resident or have a valid NZ work visa 
  • Efficient in all aspects of Telecommunications network i.e. NGA / UFB fibre cable laying, blowing, splicing, trenching, troubleshooting
  • Cabling experience in commercial, residential, MDU, SDU & ROW.
  • Reliable, honest, hardworking with strong Health and Safety awareness.
  • Chorus standards knowhow (NGA B & C for SDU and MDU)
  • Knowledge of NGA designs & Asbuilts
  • High attention to details 
  • Minimum a full Class 1 Driving Licence

Skills and experience

Tasks Include:

  • Installation of complete Ribbonet system for UFB world, includes jointing, chamber and cabinet installations
  • Installation of Boundary drops, investigation of existing ducts, hauling, dig and fix
  • Manual physical work for trenching, piloting, chamber installation and any associated manual work as required for projects.
  • Installation of all types of ducting and cables from chambers to cabinet, etc.
  • Examining drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed
  • Install, repair and maintain fibre optic telecommunications cables in underground pipes, trenches and overhead systems
  • All works to be carried out in compliance to health and safety, environmental and Traffic Management.
