The Role:

We have an excellent opportunity for a System Administrator in our Freemans Bay office. The System Administrator will be involved primarily in ongoing architecture improvement projects as well as day-to-day operational requirements of KIS Cloud Backup infrastructure across New Zealand and Australia.

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain and perform on-site support of hardware, software and network devices at KeepItSafe's Data Centres and Offices.
  • Participate in Service Desk request fulfilment, access management, monitoring and event management, incident management, and problem management (Tier 1 and Tier 2 resolutions) new Customer Provisioning, application support and operations issues.
  • Monitor the availability and utilization of LAN/WAN and Server Infrastructure.
  • Maintain network security and data integrity by monitoring authoritative security sources , ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures and security settings and systems patches are proactively maintained.
  • Create and maintain IT documentation, including employee self-help information, internal IT reference materials and best practices.
  • Perform advanced administration, maintenance, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of the storage arrays, servers, databases and network equipment and associated monitoring systems.
  • Identify problem or IT risk areas, implement prioritized remediation projects.
  • Proactively seek service improvements, innovations, and efficiencies within support and operations
  • Assist in the maintenance of asset management registers and other record keeping activities.
  • Assist the IT Operations & Infrastructure Manager with projects.
  • Maintain an in-depth Knowledge of KeepItSafe’s products & Services projects.

Required Skills

  • 5+ Years Experience in a similar role
  • Current Microsoft MCSE or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of backup’s infrastructure, and the ongoing management, monitoring, maintenance of the various environments to maintain uptime.
  • Knowledge and experience with Ahsay, Asigra, RapidRecovery or Veeam
  • Deep understanding and experience of local and network storage configuration (RAID, iSCSI, NFS)
  • Linux, (CentOS/RedHat), systems administration gained in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong Virtualization experience (Hyper-v and VMWare)
  • Network experience, Switches, Firewalls, VLANs, VPN (pfsense, Cisco, Fortinet, HP, Extreme Networks)
  • Remote management of servers (iLO, iDRAC, IPMI)
  • Web Server, SSL knowledge.
  • Strong Windows server knowledge, Active Directory, LDAP
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix configuration and deployment
  • Experience in SMB and Enterprise IT
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • An ability to communicate technical problems to non-technical staff and customers
  • Ability to work effectively in both project and operational environments


Desirable Skills:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology
  • ITIL formal training and certification
  • CoBit formal training and certification
  • ISO27001 formal training and certification
  • Knowledge of :
    • VOIP Technologies
    • Security, risk & IT governance. 
    • GDPR and HIPPA
