The Women’s Self Defence Network – Wahine Toa is a network of accredited and trained self defence teachers working throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand. We work in pursuit of a society where violence and abuse can no longer occur. We work with a feminist empowerment model and have a strong commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
We are looking for a new Finance Coordinator. The role will carry responsibility for payments, invoices and keeping accurate financial records. You will be responsible for creating reports and accounts for the board, as well as have oversight of auditing and other reporting requirements.
Along with keeping an oversight of finances for the organisation, you will help our team with other administrative and project tasks as required.
The successful applicant will have finance experience, ideally including experience of working with Xero and Thankyou Payroll. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, is confident in communicating with a wide range of people to ensure financial guidelines are met, and is flexible and keen to be part of a supportive and positive team. You will also be passionate about our work and committed to social justice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The role is 15 hours per week. There is some flexibility of when these hours are worked but at least half of these hours will need to be worked on Mondays and Tuesdays.
