The City Rail Link Project is a 3.45km twin tunnel rail link, through the city centre providing a two-way thorough-station that better connects the Auckland rail networks. It includes a re-developed Mt Eden Station, where the CRL connects with the North Auckland (Western Line) and two new underground stations (midtown at Wellesley & Victoria Streets and uptown at Mercury Lane, off Karangahape Road). 

The Project is a link in an existing 97km rail network sharing freight and metro operations. The Project’s total cost is expected to be within a funding envelope of $3.4 billion, with the CRL due for completion in 2024. More information about the Project is available on: www.cityraillink.govt.nz

Role Responsibilities:

The Executive Support Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, providing support to the CEO and Board of Directors as well as the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications to the CEO, you will be responsible for the day to day smooth operation of the CRL project office.

You will be expected to:
  • Take ownership of the smooth running of the CEO's diary, assessing and prioritising the optimal use of his time
  • Own the flow of information; document preparation and management, along with data management requirements for all highly sensitive executive documentation
  • Deliver a range of executive support and administrative services to facilitate the delivery of business operations and to support the CEO’s achievement of organisational objectives
Skills and Experience required:
  • A business degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience supporting a busy executive and Board
  • Experience in project management or EPMC environment in a large/complex organisation
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to rapildy build robust, positive relationships at all levels
  • High levels of discretion and integrity
