Duties
- caring for young people on a daily basis
- engage young people in interventions by supporting them to make positive changes in all areas of their lives
- connectedness to whanau and whakapapa is encouraged and supported
Skills and experience key to this role are
- A formal qualification in human services (or currently studying towards one)
- A passion for working with young people and a belief that all young people deserve the opportunity to grow and learn
- Some previous experience working with young people is highly desirable
- To be culturally responsive and have an understanding of Te Ao Maori
- Knowledge of Kaupapa Maori and/or Whānau Ora approach
- A current full clean driver’s licence, and
- A current 1st Aid Certificate is desirable.

Some of the work can be quite challenging so you will need to have resilience and a passion for working with youth, be a flexible person with a positive attitude and exhibit the ability to build strong professional relationships with young people, whanau/families, staff and service providers
