At Oranga Tamariki — Ministry for Children, we work with families and communities to help protect, support and care for children and young people. It's a challenging job, and we are passionate about it.
As a Practice Leader you will invest in evidence-based interventions that make the biggest difference to tamariki and rangitahi. You will have the opportunity to develop new site initiatives that support frontline social work. You'll work with the local team to implement training, strategies, plans and tools to strengthen practice. You will bring your highly tuned and professional social work practice skills to the fore, leading our site social workers in developing practice with the utmost integrity.
You will work holistically to enhance the level of practice excellence across the region to promote good practice and create better outcomes for our clients.
We have a 'one team approach' in order to achieve practice excellence and to ensure success with these teams you will be able to demonstrate:
- expert experience in managing complex practice and casework
- ability to work collaboratively with peers and other stakeholders
- sound knowledge of relevant legislation
- a full driver's licence as some travel between the sites is required.
SWRB Registration and a current annual practising certificate are also required.
