Family Works is seeking a qualified and experienced Counsellor for a 12 month fixed term contract to provide a therapeutic counselling service with children and their families as they work towards achieving positive and lasting change in their lives.


The role will be split: 2 days per week in Franklin and half a day at Te Hononga, Manurewa. 


To be successful in this role we need to know you: 

• Hold a relevant counselling degree
• Can apply therapeutic interventions with both individuals and families
• Are able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
• Interested in developing group work skills and facilitating a range of needs based programs
• Show exemplary professional practice
• Thrive in a busy multi-disciplinary team
• Are registered or eligible for registration with NZAC
• Have outstanding communication and people skills
• Have excellent family support and assessment abilities
