About the role

The Clinical Quality and Education (CQE) team design and deliver continuing education programmes to General Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Community Pharmacists throughout Canterbury. The team consists of experienced registered health professionals, most of whom also work in clinical practice. The team supports primary healthcare teams by providing independent, robust, evidence-informed education that encourages comparison of practice, discussion about variation, and teamwork.

This role is responsible for managing and mentoring the CQE team leading the successful development and delivery of the CQE work programme

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Implementation of strategic plans and objectives
  • Develop and manage service delivery proposals and budgets
  • Lead programme development in conjunction with the team and other stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate the work plan for the development and preparation of the education material
  • Lead continuous improvement activity in relation to the service delivery
  • Identify and maintain relationships with key health change agents

Skills and experience

To be successful in the role you must have the following:

  • Experience in research methods or the use of analysis to support the development and delivery of education services to health professionals
  • Passion for adult education within the primary care setting
  • Experience in the management of people, providing leadership, vision and challenge as well as support and mentoring
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with a variety of people.
  • Experience managing budgets and allocating resources
  • A general understanding of the wider health sector with a particular focus on Primary Health care
