The role
As a Despatcher you’ll be joining the high performing Fresh DC team in Mangere who are responsible for ensuring our stores (think – Pak N Save, Four Square and New World) receive freight in a safe and timely manner. It’s a varied and busy role that will see you working closely with drivers, stores, and the wider Transport team.
Core responsibilities will also include:
· Ensure all vehicles are available and on-time to arrive and depart the DC’s/ Client’s sites to meet all loading, DIFOT and standard requirements
- Responsible for the management of the fleet vehicles to achieve full utilisation of each loading and to ensure profitability
- Manage all resources efficiently and effectively to achieve the Company’s goals and objectives and DIFOT standards and at all times promote a healthy and safe environment
· Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for Transport staff by maintaining Occupational Safety and Health infrastructure and monitoring compliance
This role works 2 x 10 hour shifts Friday 20:00 – 06:00 and Sunday 20:00 – 6.00.
About you
With a focus on customer service, key to your success in this role will also include;
- Ideally you will have 2+ years working as a dispatcher in a warehouse setting
- Meticulous attention to detail to manage tasks within assigned processes and organise workload to achieve desired results
- Able to work flexible hours as we operate 24/7
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, with a desire to engage meaningfully with all stakeholders
- Able to think on your feet and be responsive in a fast-paced environment where speed and quality are equally important
