What you will do

We are currently recruiting for three exciting Manager Roles within NZDF Finance.

As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing and leading a team that is undertaking strategic financial management services across a complex organisation. You will report to a Finance Director and be responsible for the provision of sound strategic analysis and options, informing and influencing decision making and presenting analysis to assess, support or challenge key decisions. These are key senior roles providing trusted, insightful and comprehensive advice to NZDF and its leaders.

What we need

Our ideal person will have extensive and successful experience at a senior leadership level in finance/accounting and possess outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels. You will have proven quantitative, qualitative, analytical and evaluative skills and the ability and experience to problem solve, make decisions and think creatively at a senior level. Your strong business and commercial acumen and good understanding of modern business management and financial analysis techniques will enable you to influence and persuade others through various mediums.

You will hold a graduate tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Finance and qualified to Chartered Accountant level (or international equivalent) and have extensive practical experience of 7 - 10 years in a finance or accounting role within a large organisation.

The remuneration band for these positions is $145,822 to $180,133 inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

• most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
• is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
