Job reference no. TGC0718

The Company
Our mission is to provide industry-leading English education that enriches lives and creates pathways to new opportunities in New Zealand and beyond.

With three campuses across Auckland and Wellington, NZLC is one of New Zealand's largest English language schools for international students and a four-time STM Star award winner in the category "Best English Language School – Southern Hemisphere".

We are an international team and have a diverse student mix from all over Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

The Location
You will be based at one of our Auckland campuses, located just steps from the Viaduct Harbour in the Auckland CBD. The school is easily reachable by public transport and lets you enjoy this vibrant area and its great views during your lunch break or after-work drinks.

The position
We currently have an opening for a Tour Group Officer or Coordinator to arrange our tour groups that predominantly come from Japan, Taiwan, China, Thailand and Brazil. You will be a self-motivated individual with a strong sense of ownership and drive to succeed.

As someone who prides themselves in delivering excellent customer service, student-satisfaction will be your highest priority. This will be achieved through your outstanding administration, organisational and people skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and building strong relationships with our overseas Education Consultants and local activity providers
  • Preparing quotations for tour groups
  • Creating tour group itineraries to include local activities and weekend trips
  • Booking activities and transport
  • Delivering a school orientation presentation for groups on arrival
  • Liaising with tour group escort teachers to ensure smooth running of the group’s programme
  • Keeping tour group documents up-to-date
  • Adhering to the NZQA Code of Practice

Some work outside the usual hours will be required for certain tour group arrivals and farewell events for which time in lieu can be taken.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field such as tourism and hospitality, business or education - or minimum two-year’s work experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with numbers as you’ll be preparing quotations
  • Customer service perfection
  • Excel skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organised
  • Creative problem solving
  • Positive, can-do attitude

Desired

  • Many of our tour groups come from Japan, so ability to speak this language or familiarity with the culture will be a strong asset.
  • First-hand experience with other cultures or study abroad
  • Knowledge of The 2016 Code of Practice for the pastoral care of international students

Details about the role will be discussed at the first interview. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.

Please send your CV and cover letter to the office manager [email protected] with your name and job reference in the subject line.
