The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Communications Manager to join Auckland Council. This position offers a broad range of exposure to improvements being made in the Auckland region.
As a skilled and experienced leader, you will be part of the Public Affairs management team within the Communications Department. You will provide exceptional collaborative leadership across Auckland Council, the department and especially in the Internal Communications team. Your focus on management and improvement of the internal communications network at operational level will be achieved through ensuring two-way communication from the top down. You will also play a key role in developing innovative two-way channels to drive staff engagement and deliver communications to more than 7000 staff spread across the Auckland region.
About you
This senior communications role requires a number of skills and experience to be carried out successfully. As well as a tertiary qualification, you will have at least five years’ experience in senior internal communications roles, preferably in a large or complex organisation. You’ll be passionate about putting people at the centre of everything you do and will bring collaboration, strategic thinking and proven leadership experience together with high level of political acumen and judgement. Here you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your project management skills including your ability to meet and exceed deadlines.
