Our client is a reputable practice with a long-standing and loyal clientele. The firm is going through positive change, which has created the opportunity for an articulate senior accountant to join their friendly team on Auckland's North Shore.

The main duties and responsibilities include:

·         preparation of year-end financial accounts

·         preparation of various periodic tax returns

·         monthly reconciliations

·         assisting clients with settling up and running Xero

·         dealing with various client enquiries

·         interacting with IRD on behalf of your clients

.         participating in a wide range of advisory projects

·         various other ad hoc tasks and projects

This is a client-facing role and the successful candidate will work directly with a diverse group of clients across various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, import and export, commercial property/investment, the wider services industry and others. 

You will be working with various entities such as individuals, sole traders, trusts, partnerships and companies with annual turnover of up to $50 million and over. 

Reporting to a senior manager or manager and, at time, directly to the directors, you will be able to work autonomously, without the need for close supervision. Our client takes pride in their team culture, which is relaxed, friendly and enjoyable.

This opportunity requires excellent working knowledge of Xero and previous experience with MYOB AO.

The successful candidate is likely to be:

·         CA or CPA qualified 

.          easy going and friendly

·         easy to get on with

·         articulate and effective in their communication with              various clients 

·        self-driven with excellent attention to detail

·        able to work well as part of a team
