ROLE SPECIFICATION

Good credit management is essential to an organisation’s healthy cash flow, and the Credit Controller is responsible for managing a book of debtor accounts, across a number of legal entities, to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices. The Credit Controller will conduct credit checks on new customers, resolve problems in relation to invoice payments, and reconcile complex month-end accounts. The Credit Controller will report to management on outstanding issues, whilst highlighting potential debtor problems and managing the resolution process for those problems with management.

THE POSITION

The Credit Controller reports to the Head of Finance New Zealand/Australia Country Cluster, responsible for the integrity of the receivables ledger and includes overseeing the collection of customer accounts in a manner that ensures high customer satisfaction and loyalty. As such, a Credit Controller must be able to communicate in an efficient yet friendly manner with customers, as well as internally within the Group. The Credit Controller is also responsible for managing the progress of resolving any potential customer issues which are holding up payment

Job Description

  • Creating procedures and policies that ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention
  • Reconciling complex accounts that have been escalated from the AR team
  • Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors DSO
  • Ensuring credit and collection policies and procedures are followed within your team
  • Liaising with customers, as well as internal personnel including the sales team
  • Will be required to travel to Auckland on a regular basis

The key management priorities for the role:

  • Accurate and timely reporting of overdue, for the purposes of GCC-Finance and other GEA Management
  • Taking control of the whole receivables ledger in all New Zealand entities and improving the working capital position as a result.

Communication requirements for the role:

  • Internal customers: GCC-Finance (team), R&C and APC Management.
  • External customers: Customers of GEA and Inter Company partners within the Group

Type of communication: Written and verbal and presenting results.
