Our division specialises in UPS (uninterruptible power supplies), static transfer switches, power distribution, communications and software. We have experienced excellent growth in our markets and now require another service technician to join our team based in Sydney.
Reporting to the Service Manager based in Sydney, this position will be responsible for:
Support
- Preventative maintenance to the complete range of Socomec critical power products
- Fault finding on the entire range of equipments
- Phone and on-site support of UPS and associated equipment
- Commissioning of new equipment on site
- Provision of service and commissioning reports to clients
- Onsite repairs including after-hours callouts as required by the team roster
Customer Relations
- Liaising with customers with an ability to sell yourself and to promote service work in a professional manner
- Promote Socomec Service Contracts, battery replacements and other services to customers
Travel
- From time to time interstate and regional travel to undertake your duties will also be part of the job
- International travel to undertake training on Socomec Products
Candidate profile
The position will require the candidate to have very good English oral and written communication skills as there are reporting requirements and liaising directly with customers.
This position will also require someone with a level of commercial skills to support the local sales person with technical assistance. Travel and work outside of normal business hours will be required due to the nature of our equipment, running in critical environments.
The candidate must possess a current NSW electrical licence, candidates without a licence will not be considered, any additional tertiary engineering and industry qualifications will also be highly regarded. Ideally we are looking for someone who has worked within an electrical contracting or similar industrial serviced based electrical or electronics trade organisation. The position would suit someone who has finished their trade qualification and is looking to take the next step in their career to undertake intensive training as a UPS technician.
Direct UPS industry experience is ideal however experience on similar industrial equipment such as Variable Drives or industrial electronics will also be considered. On the job training will be provided along with regular formal factory training, a willingness to learn and develop is essential in this role.
