An exciting opportunity exists for a Lifeboat Service Engineer to join a national organisation delivering first class service and products to customers from around the country.
Wiltrading STACE has a strong, expert presence and long history in providing safety inspections, testing, servicing, certification, project management and asset management to the Marine & Offshore, Industrial and Defence sectors.
As a Lifeboat Service Engineer you will perform regulatory inspections & mechanical servicing on various makes of lifeboat, davit & winch arrangements in accordance with the relevant governing body/OEM.
We are seeking an experienced, qualitied and motivated qualified Lifeboat & Davit Service with proven and extensive experience working in the field as an OEM.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Lead small service teams in the field to perform regulatory inspections & mechanical servicing on various makes of lifeboat, davit & winch arrangements in accordance with the relevant governing body/OEM.
- Work autonomously in remote locations, predominately vessels in port and dry dock environments with occasional Offshore work
- Travel on short notice for durations typically between 1 day to 3 days.
- Ensure excellent customer service at all times being the Lead Lifeboat/ Davit Service Engineer.
- Develop site specific work procedures, perform tasks in keeping with OEM/SOLAS/ Classification Society regulations to ensure compliance and compile reports
- Troubleshoot and perform work on vessels detained by port state authorities by using your expert knowledge of Lifeboat/ Davit systems.
This role is essential to our business and as such we are looking for a candidate who meets the criteria listed below:
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a methodical manner.
- Strong safety first mindset.
- Ability to effectively lead small teams in challenging environments.
- Minimum 4 years working in the field as an OEM Qualified Lifeboat & Davit Service Engineer.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, SOLAS, LSA Code.
- Able to undergo extensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
- Ability to undertake a BOSIET/ HUET training course
- Strong work ethic with proven work history.
- Positive and proactive approach to safety.
