Industrial Painter/Blaster  

Based in Townsville, Pacific Marine Group (PMG) is a marine contractor at the forefront of the Maritime Industry in Northern Australia and the Pacific Rim. With approximately 120 employees working in the main divisions of Marine, Diving and Construction, PMG prides itself on its ability to efficiently undertake work in each of these areas as well as complete larger projects integrating all divisions of the business.

About the role

Due to expanding business opportunities, PMG are currently taking applications for a Paint & Blast Operator to join our Paint & Blast Team. Reporting to the Paint & Blast Supervisor, this role will be primarily responsible for:

  • Industrial painting
  • Industrial blasting
  • Airless and Conventional spraying equipment
  • Water and abrasive blasting equipment (water up to 7500 PSI)
  • Undertaking maintenance & housekeeping
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant company policies and workplace health & safety requirements

About the candidates

The successful candidate will be an individual who values working safely, within a culture focused on achieving a high standard, while meeting the needs of the client and projects.

The successful candidate will need to possess the following:

  • Experience in industrial painting and blasting (Blasting Qualification highly regarded)
  • Highly experienced with abrasive blasting
  • Experience with Airless and Conventional spraying equipment
  • Experience with High Build, 2 Pac, epoxy and industrial coatings
  • Ability to paint to a specification and use of measuring equipment
  • Current Drivers Licence 
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Forklift – High Risk Work Licence
  • Confined Space Entry certificate
  • EWP, Doggers, Franna ticket – highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective time and self-management skills

The successful candidates must have full and current Australian working rights, will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, and may be required to undergo a medical and/or police check.
