Your opportunity:

The role of Industrial Door Technician will primarily carry out Preventative Maintenance, Breakdown repairs, and some major works to Industrial Door Systems (includes gate, and roller shutter products).

You will also be required to provide support to other dormakaba product in the form of Automatic Doors, and Manual swing doors.

Experience in this industry is desirable, however we can offer training and support to candidates with transferable skills.  This may include experience in trades such as auto electrical, electrician, fabrication, maintenance fitter or, a mechanic.  You must be able to use an iPad with our service software to manage and report your jobs.

Work is mainly in the Sydney area; although some work in regional NSW may be required from time to time.

We provide a 24/7 service to our customers and on a rotational basis, this role requires you to be available on our after-hours roster, and may be required to work day or afternoon shift.

A fully maintained and stocked vehicle, mobile phone, iPad and company uniforms are supplied to assist you in undertaking your new role.

What you can expect:

  • Servicing customer equipment to the customers' ongoing satisfaction and in line with minimum performance standards.
  • Projecting a strong Customer Service image through competent service procedures, professional personal presentation, clear communication with all customers, and, a clean and tidy motor vehicle.
  • Accurate reporting of all your service activity through diligent and timely use of the service system, and maximum utilization of online technical resources.
  • Effective Management of all assigned parts and consumable stocks.
  • Working in a manner with strong regard to the public and your personal safety.

What we expect:

  • Current Drivers licence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of electrical safety principles.
  • Relevant Product and industry knowledge is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Please note: As a pre-requisite for this role all candidates need to hold a current Drivers Licence. Candidates will also be required to undertake a National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Clearance Check.
